The relevant questions and the issues framing the 6th SCAPE artworks have been articulated in this SCAPE Public Art two volume publication set. As an archive of a very unique time in the history of Christchurch, this two volume publication set is sure to be a collectors' item.
Volume 1 (Visitor Guide + Reader) features: an introduction from the Curatorial Group, essays on art in public space by Blair French, Anthony Gardner and Saskia Sassen, a short story by award winning local author Rachael King, introductions to the SCAPE Public Art artist projects and public programme. This publication was printed prior to the recent earthquake and features a supplement situating the SCAPE artworks within the changed context of the city of Christchurch.
Volume 2 (Artists’ Projects) features extensive visual documentation of the SCAPE Public Art artist projects and essays from Creon Upton, Laura Preston, Abby Cunnane, Kate Montgomery, Melanie Oliver, Anna-Marie White, Andrew Paul Wood and Barbara Garrie examining how the changed central city has impacted the interpretation of the SCAPE Public Art artworks.
