The SCAPE Christchurch Biennial is New Zealand's premier biennial of art in public space, playing an important and unique role by focusing on commissioning new artworks. As Governing Patron of the Art & Industry Biennial Trust I invite you to be personally involved in SCAPE and to experience the biennial in an entirely new way.
Not only will your contribution as a SCAPE Benefactor provide an opportunity for an artist to make new work – it will also give them the chance to scale-up their practice – making bigger, better, bolder and riskier art!
As Governing Patron I invite you to join the 6th SCAPE Patrons' Circle to help us commission new public artworks. Your contribution is vital and will contribute directly to artistic participation, helping bring artists to New Zealand and allowing Art & Industry to premiere important new work. It will support special projects and enable the commissioning of work by local and international artists as well as continuing to present the 6th SCAPE free to the public.
Donations of $5,000 are acknowledged as 6th SCAPE PATRONS' CIRCLE MEMBERS
All donations go directly towards realising the artistic content of the exhibition, publications and associated programs. Acknowledgement as a 6th SCAPE Patrons' Circle Member recognises significant support to the SCAPE Christchurch Biennial and an intimate and personal association with the event and the Art & Industry Biennial Trust who run the event.
Benefits include a select personal network with strong links to the Trust’s international, national and local government, corporate and cultural partners. Benefactors will come together at previews of the exhibition, and private functions organised by the Trust.
Art & Industry will acknowledge the support of its SCAPE Benefactors in its publications and exhibition venues. Benefactors will be informed with regular updates and news about SCAPE, electronically and by post (if preferable) - as well special touring packages to visit similar events.
The significant changes to the treatment of cash charitable gifts effective from the 2008/2009 income year means that individuals who become benefactors of SCAPE may be able to claim a 33 ¹/³ tax rebate for donations up to their annual net taxable income.
I do hope you will embrace this opportunity to get to know an artist as they create their work for the biennial and to meet other like-minded individuals who share a passion for supporting the very best in contemporary art.
